Guest Post: Pinterest Challenge

I love my job! I work in the Financial Aid Office at the university with 2 other awesome girls! We are no-nonsense, get it done, do it right the first time girls! And we get along great! (ok, enough exclamation points!!)

Lauren, one of the two wonderful girls mentioned above and pictured on the left, made an adorable project from Pinterest - Since the Pinterest Challenge is on again, I thought I would let her post her project here (since she doesn't blog).

So, here's Lauren:

Hi, my name is Lauren - I am a Pinterest addict. But I am now attempting to complete some of the projects I pin. Maybe that helps justify my addiction. Or that's what I keep telling my husband.

I love football. (Another addiction...I may have a problem). This project from Lines Across My Face seemed like the perfect way to "kick-off" the season.

Hobby Lobby had the brown onesie for $4. You will also need one piece of "ivory" felt (3 for $1). Don't forget your 40% off coupon! I also bought ivory colored upholstery thread (you'll need something thick and heavy-duty).

Cut your felt strips. I made mine uneven and differently shaped on purpose. I thought it would add a little character. Lay out your pieces to ensure that you have cut enough strips.

Simply stitch around the pieces, starting with the long vertical piece...I just used a back stitch. Don't worry about making your stitches perfect...again, it'll add character.

Add an adorable baby and a hair bow in your team's colors - mine is Auburn University!

Check out lots of other people who participated in the Pinterest Challenge with Sherri, Katie, Ana and Erin.

What I love most about my home...

...is who I share it with!

My husband and I love having people in our home. Overnight guests or dinner guests...Game nights, movie nights, Crafternoons, or just to say hello! Growing up, my parents did an excellent job of teaching me the importance of hospitality. I can remember many meals my family would share with friends, visitors at church, and extended family. Upon moving into our new home, Jeremiah and I decided that we wanted to do the same with the home God has blessed us with. To remember those we've had the privilege of fellowshipping with, I decided to have a guest book for our home. Not the typical book with lines where folks write their name...but a framed picture where our guests could "leaf" their mark.

My talented friend Tina drew this wonderful tree for me to use as the background for our guest book.

Each time someone visits our home, they get to leave their fingerprint as a leaf. I simply purchased 3 different color green ink pads from Hobby Lobby! We love seeing the tree filled in! A few nights ago, we stood in front of it, remembering different people we've had over since the move.

We are truly blessed to be surrounded by such great friends! We pray the Lord continues to use our home as a place to minister to others!
