A little paint changes everything!

If you love to make your home look fun and decorated, you could easily spend a fortune. But...if you keep your eyes open and aren't afraid of using a little craft paint, you can decorate with items found at the Dollar Tree!

Last year, I purchased some candlesticks (they were leopard print) and some very bright orange Styrofoam pumpkins for $1. They were hideous when I brought them home, but after a little paint, they created a fun little fall display. And look much less awkward now that they are painted in muted tones.

I also purchased a little squirrel that looks like something that only belonged on the back shelf of a thrift store. However, once painted white, he seemed a little more friendly.  (See the canning ring pumpkin tutorial here).

And last but not least - my bff/neighbor, knowing my love of owls, purchased this little guy for 50 cents.

I thought he needed some TLC as well - a little orange craft paint provided the perfect wardrobe change. I decided to leave some of the dark tones showing through the paint.

And now, he's looking much cuter on our kitchen table.

You can make your own yarn pom-pom branches by following these simple instructions.  I love free projects!  And the lazy susan was a repainted project from some time back. I like the look of the clean white circle on the table. I may add a stripe of red eventually. But for now, it goes well with my fall decor.

And my 3 bags of White Chocolate Candy Corn M&M's are almost gone...MUST.FIND.MORE!!! You can see what is left in my jar...

Have you transformed anything with a little craft paint recently? Don't be afraid! Get out those sponge brushes and get to work! You'll be glad you did.
