This evening after dinner, I found myself worrying. Pulling out my journal, I quickly unloaded issue after issue that I was worried about. Over and over again I seemed to be asking God, "And what is Your plan here, God? Calm me down and help me to trust you."
I then started doing a little catching up on my Bible Reading Plan. These words in Philippians 4 jumped off the page at me.

Always be full of joy in the Lord, I say it again -- rejoice! Let everyone see that you are considerate
in all you do...Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. THEN, you will experience God's peace, which exceeds
anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ.
So, that's what I did...
1. Decided to pray about my issues instead of worrying about them.
2. Told God what I needed.
THEN - I really did experience the peace of God. I am comforted by the fact that God's peace and protect my heart and mind when I want to worry.
I sat down to catch up a little bit today... I haven't made it to Philippians yet. I can conquer worrying in one issue then something else arises and I forget AGAIN. Miss you!
ReplyDeleteIt is a daily battle for me as well! I did some major catch up last night. I'm determined not to give up!
