I can't believe Hudson is already 8 months old!
Each day he seems to discover something new.
His latest accomplishment is sitting on his own, and he is pretty proud of himself for figuring this out.
Since he was in a good mood and the weather was nice, I decided we needed a few cute pictures to document this achievement. And, since this was his first sit-down in the grass, I was not sure how he would react.
I could not get him to look at me. He didn't try to touch the grass, but he kept looking and looking...
Finally, after I started singing a few of his favorite songs, I was rewarded with some smiles. Hudson loves music, and I sing to him often. This week, he has started "singing" with me. When I sing a song that is familiar to him, he sings lots of "aaaaaaaaah" and "ooooooooh" right along with me. It's the cutest thing!
Usually, when he is sitting on his own, he eventually just falls over to the side...but the grass was somehow magical. He never teetered. He never fell. Just kept sitting there, cute as could be.
As we sang the song "Our God is Greater" this morning in church, I had a few tears well up. It seems I often claim a song for a period of my life. For the events surrounding Hudson's birth, "Our God is Greater" seemed to be the perfect way to describe my heart.
And when those big blue eyes stare up at me, I can't help but continue to praise God for the great things that He has done for us and through us. I still love sharing our story.
Our God is greater
Our God is stronger
God, You are higher than any other
Our God is HEALER
Awesome in power
Our God, Our God
And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us?
And if our God is with us, then what could stand against?
"As for God, His way is perfect." - Ps. 18:30

I love that he sings along with you. I am sensing a super sweet duet in the future!
ReplyDeleteI also really like the picture after the paragraph about singing. Hudson looks so happy and you can see clearly every blade of grass!
