Quick Doll Party Invite

My neighbor/BFF's little girl is soon turning 5 years old. As a family tradition, the five year old girl's birthday party includes each guest's doll. The girls bring their favorite doll to the party - and all the activities include their "friend."  They'll have special "snacks" for the dolls. Special "hats." and Special games...

For a special invitation, we used the Playtime cartridge on my Cricut to quickly cut out a doll form. We left off the eyes and mouth to make it seem more like a toy than a little girl.

Ashlee had the bright idea to make the dress two layers in order to be able to include more information on the invite. We simply cut two dresses for each girl, one in hot pink and one in orange. Then, after layering the dresses with a simple brad fastener, the dress easily would swing to the side, revealing more party details.

The idea was so adorable that I had to share it with you as well. I'm sure you could easily use this for more than just an invitation to a party - you could use it for games or practicing math problems...the possibilities are endless.

I can't wait to attend Abbigale's party to see what other creative ideas Ashlee has planned for the girls and their dolls.
