Sweet Retreat

Last weekend, I had the privilege to minister with my little sister. She and her husband work with the youth in a church a few hours from my house. I was able to travel up a few days early to hang out with precious Pippa and help Amy prepare for a fun girl's retreat.

I could play with this cutie all day long!

We gathered some Bible Study tools, some giveaways and lots of sugar.

The girls began go arrive.  We were ready for fun.

We played a fun game of "Who's Got it?" -- the girls had to search through their belongings to see who had the most items on our list.

And there could only be one winner!

We also spent some time in the Word. I was able to share with the girls the methods I use to dig into my devotional time.

We made crafts. We ate candy. We had so much fun!

For our big competition of the night, we divided the girls into two teams for CUPCAKE WARS!!!

Amy and I had found a fun recipe - for cupcakes, you simply need to combine one can of pop with one boxed cake mix. That's it! No eggs....no oil....just delicious fizzy-ness! Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. (Seemed to make an average of 16 - 18 cupcakes)

Amy and I tried a fun combination the night before. Using a strawberry cake mix and sprite, we made strawberry limeade cupcakes!

It was so fun to watch the girls run around frantically for one hour - creating a display and cooking some yummy cupcakes.

After the battle, we had a little photo-booth fun.

After a few more crafts, the girls finally got a little bit of sleep.

The next morning, after a breakfast of pancakes, we studied more in the Word. What a privilege it was to minister with my sister to this wonderful group of girls. Their sweet spirits and desire to learn were refreshing.

After it was all over, we were all ready for a nap. At least Pippa got to sleep while we cleaned up.

I had such a great time! I hope I get to participate in next year's girl's retreat! Miss you girls!
