Read with Me

I love when I am challenged and encouraged from a book that I read to my kids. Jesus Calling for Little Ones by Sarah Young is such an adorable board book. It is filled with colorful illustrations that keep my kid's attention. And the sturdy pages are perfect for little hands.

Each page has a message written as if God were speaking it to your little one. There is also a verse to compliment the inspirational message.

It's full of truths that I need to be reminded of as an adult. And it is a book that I am always glad to read to my kids.

Anne of Green Gables, My Daughter & Me is creatively written memoir by Lorilee Craker. Since the stories of Anne Shirley are some of my favorite fictional accounts, I loved reading what this book taught the author "about Grace, Belonging & the orphan in us all."

After her young adopted daughter asked, "What is an orphan?" while reading the story of Anne, this author decided to search the book for insights into finding a sense of belonging. I enjoyed remembering some of my favorite parts of Anne's story as I compared them to the author's life.

Stealing Jake was an entertaining novel that I read in two sittings. The characters were vibrant and the story intriguing. In less than two pages, I found myself engrossed in a tale of two individuals. I loved reading of the main character's journey out of a life of stealing. It was a refreshing tale with enough mystery and romance. I am thankful that I can always trust Tyndale's books to be clean but entertaining.

Having read other books by Shaunti Feldhahn, I was curious to read Through a Man's Eyes - Helping Women Understand the Visual Nature of Men. The content was well written, but it did seem to be many of the same principles already written in her other books. It was great to be reminded of the constant battle that men face and I was encouraged to read how God puts safe guards in our life.

Some sections of the book talked about discussing these issues with your children as they are maturing.
