Sweet Baby Photo Prop

I had mentioned last week that I was working on a little project for a talented photographer friend of mine. If you missed Misty's guest post about photographing children, check it out here.

She had sent me an inspiration picture, asking if a sweet baby canopy would be hard to make. She found the lace fabric at Hobby Lobby and suggested a wire coat hanger for the frame of the circle. And it totally worked!

I gathered my supplies:

1 yard of lace fabric......................$8.99/yd (You could use 40% coupon to knock the price down)
1/2 yard of cream fabric...............$1.00
wire coat hanger...........................FREE
thread to match.............................On hand/FREE

TOTAL COST: $10

After forming the circle from the wire hanger, I simply gathered a strip of the cream fabric.

I created a one inch pocket along the top of the lace to run the wire circle through. Then, I sewed everything together. I left the cream fabric unhemmed to give it the vintage look that Misty was wanting.

And it made an adorable baby photo shoot prop.

You can see more of Misty's work on their website and on Facebook at Boyd and Olson Photography.

Check back this afternoon for an amazing deal from Boyd and Olson Photography that is going to be announced here first for So the Cook Said readers.
